In this project I took a cardboard box out into the world and explorded different ways to frame the box. I also began to notice naturally occuring lines and shapes to use.
The Camera
In this project we looked at how camera work using a Pringles tube to make a camera obscura which takes a small point of light and makes an image using the lid. These images were then captured with our phone
Composition
In this project we looked at different ways to frame an image and how to emphasises different subjects in many ways.
Architecture
In this project we explored Manchester and looked at architecture and used previous knowledge from the Composition Project to capture images. These were then edited and finally developments were made using some of the final edits.
Manual Camera - Fast Shutter Speed
In this project we looked at how a fast shutter speed affects an image, to capture specific moments which can not be done using a slower shutter speed.
Manual Camera - Slow Shutter Speed
In this project we looked at how a slow shutter speed affects the images taken. We did this by using lights to draw in the air.
Type
In this project I went to Manchester and collected letters of the alphabet that I found on my walk, I then levelled and put my images in black and white before adding blue to a letter to make it stand out as the subject of each image.
Street Photography
In this project we walked around Manchester taking pictures of people who we were drawn to. After the trip we made common themes for our pictures, which were then edited and finally developments were made
Mirror For a Walk
In this project I chose to take a mirror for a walk around my house and played with different compositional ideas. During the project the mirror broke and so was able to use the shards to explore more places to put the mirror.
The Object
In this project I chose from a selection of objects and used two in a shoot, playing with light and shadow. After using both objects I chose on to then edit and develop.
